What Would I Be?
If I were...
If I were a month, I’d be September.
If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday.
If I were a time of day, I’d be sunrise.
If I were a planet, I’d be Earth.
If I were a sea animal, I’d be a penguin.
If I were a direction, I’d be West.
If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a comfy chair.
If I were a liquid, I’d be water.
If I were a gemstone, I’d be jade.
If I were a tree, I’d be one for picnicking under.
If I were a tool, I’d be a pocket knife.
If I were a flower, I’d be a George Burns rose.
If I were a kind of weather, I’d be light rain falling while the sun shines.
If I were a musical instrument, I’d be a guitar.
If I were a color, I’d be blue.
If I were an emotion, I’d be love.
If I were a fruit, I’d be a mango.
If I were a sound, I’d be children laughing.
If I were an element, I’d be Oxygen.
If I were a car, I’d be off-road.
If I were a food, I’d be something healthy.
If I were a place, I’d be a lively cafe.
If I were a material, I’d be silk.
If I were a taste, I’d be delicious -- just workin' on my self-esteem :)
If I were a scent, I’d be Gucci Eau de Parfum (2002).*
If I were an object, I’d be a camera.
If I were a song, I'd be I Will Survive.
If I were a body part, I’d be the nape of the neck.
If I were a facial expression, I’d be awe.
If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be a nice comfortable wedge.
What would you be?
*or a George Burns rose. I can't decide.
UPDATE: I was told I should have put Lotus for flower. I like that people read my blog. :)

Gettin' My $#&% Together
I want to see your willpower surge and throb and carry you to a ringing triumph in the next two weeks, Virgo. I hope to be cheering you on as you complete a plucky effort to overcome some long-standing obstacle . . . as you put the finishing touches on an epic struggle to defeat a seemingly intractable foe . . . as you rise up with a herculean flourish and put the stamp of your uniqueness on a success that will last a long time. ~ Sage Advice Sorely Needed

My Time to Align
If you've been aligned with cosmic rhythms these past few weeks, Virgo, you've been rising higher and feeling bolder. You've taken a stand on issues about which you had previously been a bit weak and cowardly. You have been able to articulate elusive or difficult truths in graceful ways that haven't caused too terrible a ruckus. Your next challenge is to rally the troops. The group that means the most to you is in need of your motivational fervor. I suggest that you think deeply about how to cultivate more dynamic relationships among all the parts,
thereby energizing the whole. -- Yep!

Dissolution Is An Illusion
You will throughout your life experience situations and circumstances that hold the seed for fear, do not allow yourself one moment to be victimized. For when you encounter that which holds the seeds of fear, it is an indicator that you need to stoke the fires of your own self love. Love conquers all. It takes that which on human accounts would be failure or terrible and transforms it into a powerful statement that fear and its master is only an illusion. Light does not necessarily change the obstacles of your path, but it gives you the ability to see your way around them. Speak your self-love in conviction, enthusiasm and zeal. Hold the light of self-love high above that all whom you encounter will bask in. -- Ships of Song

I've never felt the deep feelings of failure (Is that what I'm feeling?) until now. That's not to say life has been full of victory but I've learned to cope with what others perceive as great disappointment finding life's ups and downs more of an appointment towards some greater good. Still, even under the best circumstances (and ours are excellent), divorce feels like nothing I've experienced before in my entire life. I think any form of disconnection from another person is disconnection from Who-We-Really-Are or Your Personal Truth which is You Are Love. And if you have tied your happiness to another without first grounding yourself in self-love that disconnection can be devastating. Had I attempted this at any other point in my life, I would be devastated.
I met with my lawyers alone at the courthouse today. That felt right. My friend, with my blessing (not that it was required nor should anyone I care for feel bound by my approval), has moved on. "They" say: If you really love someone you want their happiness even if it isn't with you. I want his happiness and I do love him. This love that remains keeps me connected to him. More importantly, it keeps me connected to Me.

Would You Repeat That Offer Back to Me, Please?
What are you waiting for, my dear Virgo? Your future power spot has been exerting a strong pull on you. It has been calling for you to come and seize the clout you deserve. But you have not yet fully taken up the offer. As your designated nag and cheerleader, it is my sacred duty to wave a red flag in front of your gorgeous face and command you to pay attention. In my opinion, you need to drop what you're doing, race over to the zone of engagement, and pounce. You're more than ready to stake a claim to the increased authority you'll have a mandate to wield in the coming months. -- Yeah, Him Again

Untitled (but now, Aquatic Rainbow)
I can't decide on a title for this photo. Here are a few I am toying with: Diving Deep. Over My Head. Don't Hold Your Breath. Immersion (the front runner). Submersed. Aquatic Rainbow. Wait! I kinda like that last one. Ah, decisions.I am engaging in cerebral looping that has me believing that I am making more and more difficult decisions on my own. As I filter through this mind-field of what is me and not me, I'm almost tip-toeing with uncertainty. I'm practicing more positive thoughts but, being human, I have an urge to stop in my tracks and not move at all. But having stepped out of one huge explosion of change still resembling myself, I'll keep moving forward.
I chose Aquatic Rainbow as the title because the others were reflecting these feelings of being overwhelmed. It may not be a great title but it's a happier title. And that kind of blissful cerebral looping will get me safely to the other side where I plan to find myself fully intact. *
How skilled are you at getting things done and making things happen? This is different from just being busy; it's not the same as scrambling around attending to whatever tasks are at the forefront of your attention. I'm talking about actually cranking out excellent results that manifest a comprehensive vision of your intentions. I'm talking about working hard and smart to serve the big picture, not working frenetically and mechanically to rid yourself of nervous mental energy. You're in a phase when these themes are especially important, Virgo. Be a master of the details; don't let the details master you. -- Rob
* I couldn't help myself. :)

Amen
Child of Mine,
I will never do for you that which I know you can do for yourself. I will never rob you of an opportunity to show yourself your ability and talent. I will see you at all times as the capable, effective, powerful creator that you've come forth to be. And I will stand back as your most avid cheerleading section. But I will not do for you that which you have intended to do for yourself. Anything you need from me, ask. I'm always here to compliment or assist. I am here to encourage your growth, not to justify my experience through you.
Love,
YouKnowWho & Your Mom

It's A Bird, It's A Plane...
I'm not saying that you should create a superhero identity for yourself and embark on a campaign to combat injustice. But if you've ever wondered whether the life of a costumed crusader is right for you, it's an excellent time to experiment. Your courage will be expanding in the coming weeks. Your craving for adventure will be strong, too. Even more importantly, your hunger to do good deeds that reach beyond your own self-interest will be growing. Interested? Check out the Superhero Supply website to get yourself operational. It's here. -- Rob
Wow.
I've been pretending to be my own superhero so this comes at quite a timely time. I totally want to buy the travel-sized forcefield of invincibility that I saw here. That could be a really sweet device. Especially since I've been invited to spontaneously travel. Spontaneity is my Kryptonite. I like to plan. I like to organize.*I like my @#$% together. I like those things because they feel good to me. No other reason. If I say Yes, I will be stepping out of my own self-interest...for the greater good...maybe. Perhaps, I will even rescue myself from a vibe I have not mastered clearing. Adventure into some serious R&R. I wonder if I could take an invisible plane?
*Uh...k...I'm not that organized.

Contrast
I didn't think it was possible, but paranoid visions of doom and gloom have become even more popular in the past few years than ever before. Apocalypse-watching is no longer a fringe hobby reserved for conspiracy fetishists; it has gone mainstream. And yet here I am in the midst of the supposed mayhem, babbling my eccentric ideas about how we are living in the single most wonderful time in the history of civilization. So let me ask you a crucial question, especially if you're one of the millions of normal people who believes that cynicism is a supreme sign of intelligence: Do you really want to be getting your fortune told by a rebel optimist like me? You should know that all my horoscopes are rooted in the hypothesis that expecting the best makes you happier, safer, kinder, wilder, stronger, and smarter. What happens in the coming weeks will, in my opinion, be dramatic proof of that. -- Rob

As a photographer, contrast serves me. The web says this of contrast: The difference between the darkest and lightest areas in a photo. The greater the difference, the higher the contrast.
I'm going to preach as to purge. And if no one wants to read, I'll be my own choir. So, let the brief composition begin...
There will always be contrast...there will always be great differences. As we move away from contrast, we move towards homogeneity. Sameness. Stasis. A fading into the picture so no individual is visible...back into the collective. Which is fine after death but we're here -- Now -- to be a single specific specimen...a finely drawn leaf dangling in the chaotic differences. To judge the contrast is to come into conflict. There can be no peace in conflict. So, I choose to allow contrast. I choose to be un-judging and unconditional in my life's approach. I am far from my goal but I can feel myself moving in that direction. I am learning to love that which is so different from me by simply acknowledging that to know what I am is to know that which I am not. How can I not be in appreciation of that powerful relationship? Everything is complimentary...that is my focus. And the beautiful result of focusing is that there is always clarity.

Rappin' With Angels*
Have you been lusting after spiritual traditions other than your own? Have you been fantasizing about cheating on the deity you've always been faithful to, and seeking a taboo relationship with a strange and exciting god from another part of reality? If so, Virgo, that's a good sign. I suspect you could use a few adjustments to your familiar relationship with the Divine Wow. After all, you have gone through a lot of changes since the last time you hammered out your definitive theories about the meaning of life. What made good sense for you back then can't be completely true for you any more. So feel free to let your mind *wander in the direction of holy experiments. -- Rob

How Telling
Start telling a better-feeling story about the things that are important to you. Do not write your story like a factual documentary, weighing all the pros and cons of your experience, but instead tell the uplifting, fanciful, magical story of the wonder of your own life and watch what happens. -- Those Guys, Again
I did this today. There was nothing to lose.
The morning was not going well. Things were not falling into place. Plus, there was a stat-icky vibration lingering around me. The kind that won't give you your space. The kind that really belongs to someone else and you've just thought too much about their words or ways to shake it off so you're attracting it like polyester.
My friend and I have been waiting on a date to proceed in the dissolution of our illusion. And it has not happen. I was to hear word today. Nothing. Both frustrated, we began downshifting instead of uplifting. I hung up from that conversation knowing I was really going to have to -- let go and let God...and I'm certain he was needing to do the same of me...
So I began my story:
Today is one of the most glorious days I have ever lived. My friend is so wonderful. I am amazed by what a fantastic human being he is. I have been so lucky to have him in my life the way I have and now I am so lucky to have him in my life in this new way. I know that all that must be done related to this transition is happening and that I will see results soon. I know that whatever I have to do for that to happen will appear easily at my finger tips. I know this will all move quickly because Love is guiding it. I can see him happily moving forward and I support that and I see him supporting me moving forward in my happiness. I know that what is meant to be is a result of deliberate creating. I ask for swift resolve.
By the end of my story, I knew everything was true. At least about my friend. And I felt peace so I decided to do little things around the house and forget the big things. Two hours later, he calls to say a friend of the family would take care of everything. We would have to come to them, however. It would be quite a drive but it turns out that's the beautiful thing as my daughter will be close by with open loving arms and a comfy sofa with my name on it!
Ah, God Is Good.

Somewhere Over the Rambutan
Mangosteens and rambutans are exotic fruits that grow in faraway places. The mangosteen is creamy and purple, with a peachy citrus taste, while the rambutan is like a big hairy red grape. This is a perfect moment, astrologically speaking, to invite them into your mouth. Likewise, the time is right for you to consider welcoming other colorful, striking, and foreign elements into your life. So maybe consider making friends with a Paraguayan acrobat. Sing Vietnamese folk songs. Read the memoirs of an Iranian exile. Exchange conspiracy theories with an Icelandic fairy. -- Rob
Yes. Though foreign, it's striking me how COLORFUL life is becoming. :)

Random Thought
Do you remember the monster that sometimes lived under your bed when you were a kid? Recently it found its way back to you, and has been spending time in your closet. It's not as frightening as it used to be, and I'm not alarmed by its return. In fact, I think it has an important message for you that would be valuable to discover. I encourage you to invite it out for a conversation. As you might suspect, as soon as it delivers its crazy wisdom, it will leave you in peace. -- Rob
I went over, in great detail, each inch of my old house after my mother and brothers moved away. I had promised to clean it before the bank came. Since she was letting go of so much already, I didn't want my mother to have to do anything but let go long enough to drive away. I left it immaculate. All except, the basement. I could not go down there even though scripts, 45s, costumes, old pictures and all sorts of other proof that we had existed within the walls were hidden there. But, there were also scorpions hiding.
Though I've been frightened of scorpions, I've come to respect what they symbolize --
* Transition
* Death/Resurrection
* Control
* Solitude
* Passion
* Protection
I could ramble on each point as it has manifested personally in my life, in a way that served me, but I think I will just offer up appreciation for having come to the realization that there is much to be gained in facing your fears and forgiving yourself when all you felt you could do was turn away.
Now back to our regularly scheduled blog challenge.

Faithful Friends
While chatting it up last night with one of my oldest friends, in terms of years of knowing, wrote this to me:
I know you will LOVE what you discover about yourself. We all see it! -- G.Z.
What do they see?
I find myself apologizing. I have not been nice to myself. For a very long time, I've been on a two-way street of misalignment. And I resisted traveling towards any dreams I had beyond what was expected of me by others. I'm learning how very important this elusive thing called Self-Love is. To be your own mirror that allows the reflective force to be the Source within you. To embrace the As Is of you with thoughts of what Will Become brewing in the Now.
I'm getting there.
On another blog, I mentioned that I keep this small 'note to self' on my writing desk: Seek ye first the wisdom of You within.
My little twist on an old standard. Writing it to myself when it was least true in me with the hopes it would become all of me.
So, I think it wise to use this time to offer up love to those of you following me. You don't have to but you chose to. I mentioned to Leah, through a comment in one of the blogs, that I'm writing this for myself. I follow several blogs. I enjoy commenting on the wonderful thoughts and notions people have of themselves and the world. I'm inspired often. I'm catching up on years of quiet thoughts that went unheard because I believed I was not in a place to voice them or that they were not important enough to be heard. Now, here I am. Here, like always, by accident. This blog simply sets an intention and opens a frequency to those even remotely within my wave-range to tune in. In those same comments to Leah, I mentioned how very grateful I was for my three followers. Imagine my delight in now having nine!
You, just hanging around reading here and there, are helping me to clarify what I see in the mirror. Life IS Good...because you're reflected in it.
Love & Blessings & A Big Bear Hug

(I'm totally buying myself that bear for Valentine's Day :)(K...Update: I didn't buy the bear but I did come down with an awful head cold that allowed for some much needed

Meet You At Three...

I don't mean to alarm you, but I think you may be in a light hypnotic trance* right now. It's possible that the thrumming hum of your routine has shut down some of your normal alertness, lowering your awareness of certain situations that you really need to tune in to. Let's do something about this! When I count to three, you will hereby snap out of your daze and become fully awake. 1 . . . 2 . . . 3. Now look around you and get yourself more closely in touch with your immediate environment. Make an effort to vividly see and hear and smell everything that's going on. This will have the effect of mobilizing your subconscious mind. Then, for a period of at least five days, you'll have a kind of X-ray vision. -- Rob
*This clip is in honor of my eight year old who, while in diapers, would come to me with anything that would swing and say, "You're getting sleepy" and I would close my eyes and snore a little. Right when she thought I was in my deepest sleep she would get near my face and snort like a pig to "startle" me awake then run off giggling.
Wow...I miss that.

I Feel Completely Better Now...
French novelist Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880) is generally regarded as one of the greats. His book Madame Bovary appears on many lists of the greatest novels of all time. And yet writing didn't come especially easy for him. He worked as hard as a ditch-digger. It wasn't uncommon for him to spend several agonizing days in squeezing out a single page. On some occasions he literally beat his head against a wall, as if trying to dislodge the right words from their hiding place in his brain. He's your role model in the coming week, Virgo. You can create something of value, although it may require hard labor. -- Rob

Exercising My Rites
I miss my Yoga and my Nia groups. Being with others who are seeking peace and balance with their ultimate dance partner -- Source Energy/God in and around them -- is a spiritual high. Here, that energy is confined to pews. With love and concern, many are motivated to extend to me invitations to sit down in what I consider rather uncomfortable seating. I decline citing I wiggle too much.
Anyway, without hesitation, I know there is not one single yoga class with in 100 miles. People don't believe me when I say I'm lost in the middle of Nowhere. And people don't believe me when I say I found myself here. I'd be a full blown paradox if I didn't love traveling so much. I'm modestly self-taught in a few areas because 1) it's fun to discover what you can do 2) early on, I was too broke to pay for any instruction 3) I bore easily and must stimulate my brain...often...and, I know, if I would focus better I could probably drop the 'modestly' part.
Recently, like a lighting bolt, a very strong thought dived out of an unknown synaptic place in me. I didn't hear voices just felt the loud thunderous quiver that followed. The thought: Transmute your procreative energy into a higher vibration. Huh? Oh! Wait...The 6th Tibetan Rite. Now, I'm not even professing to do 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 well...but I am focusing...and these days, I tend to follow my own weather patterns which are forecasting a good outcome. Researching it, I've been warned of it's power -- this saucy 6th sacrament. I took the warning as good news coming straight from the Anchorman in the Sky. Why do it if it's not going to empower you?
Here's to Higher Love.
